About Our Damp Proofing Treatments

How our product works

Why choose DAMP HQ Mesh?

At Damp HQ, we are proud to introduce DAMP HQ Mesh, an innovative answer to preventing moisture damage in your home. This high-density polypropylene membrane is engineered to serve as a robust barrier against dampness, salts, and contaminants while allowing your structure to breathe and dry naturally.

Our unique heat-bonded mesh design permits direct rendering or the application of plasterboard finishes, making it an excellent choice for both above and below-ground applications.

Reliable moisture control:

Our membrane effectively combats capillary action, rising damp, and penetrating moisture, making sure that your home remains dry and comfortable. It’s perfect for managing salt-contaminated walls, providing peace of mind against further damage.

Quick and efficient installation:

Our DAMP HQ Mesh is designed for quick installation. Our experts will be measure and cut the membrane to size, position it and secure it using our specially designed polypropylene plaster plugs.

Flexible applications:

Whether you’re dealing with damp walls in your living space or undertaking a basement conversion, our membrane is suitable for various surfaces, including brick, stone, and concrete. It is particularly effective in flood remediation and offers a thermal layer that helps manage surface condensation.

Breathable protection:

One of the standout features of DAMP HQ MESH is its ability to allow water vapour to escape behind the membrane. This means it can be installed even when walls and floors are not fully dry, reducing time the space is left empty after a flooding event.

What to expect from installation

Our membrane is fitted by an experienced specialist who will carry out the following stages:

They will ensure the substrate is clean and free from loose materials or ruts that could damage the membrane. They will then remove any electrical fixtures or pipes that may interfere with installation.

The fitters will carefully position the membrane with the studs facing the wall, creating an air gap that allows moisture to evaporate while blocking damp from getting through.

For a seamless installation, use our fleece band butyl tape to seal any joints between the membranes, allowing for a smooth finish.

Once the membrane is installed, you can apply your chosen finish directly onto the membrane, whether it be plaster, render, or dot-and-dab plasterboard.

Manufactured from premium-grade polypropylene, our DAMP HQ mesh membrane is impermeable and resistant to chemicals commonly found in construction. Its durability is backed by a life expectancy of at least 50 years for defined applications, ensuring long-term protection against damp-related issues.
